Types of Macy’s Star Rewards
Bronze Level: 1% Back in Macy’s Rewards
This is the only membership that’s not tied to a Macy’s Credit Card, so you can pay in cash or with another card. Sign up is free and it gets you a birthday surprise and access to Star Money Bonus Days, where you can earn even more points.
Silver Level: 2% Back in Macy’s Rewards
When you open a Macy’s Credit Card, you’ll automatically start at the Silver level. You’ll also get cardholder-exclusive savings with 25% off Star Passes. Sign up is free but subject to approval.
Gold Level: 3% Back in Macy’s Rewards
Macy's cardholders who spend $500-$1,119 annually are automatically bumped up to the Gold level, where free shipping kicks in!
Platinum Level: 5% Back in Macy’s Rewards
Spend $1,200+ annually to get free shipping and the highest percentage back in Star Rewards. This will earn you Star Money faster, especially if you shop on Star Money Bonus Days.

Commonly Asked Questions
How Do You Access Star Rewards Coupons?
Online: If you have an account, you can find your coupons saved under My Wallet. Just click Apply to get the discounts.
In-Store: When you swipe your Macy’s card at checkout, your coupons will pop up on the screen. Click any coupons you want to apply.
How Do You Move Up Star Rewards Membership Levels?
Cardholders can move up membership levels by hitting a minimum spend ($500 for Gold level and $1,200 for Platinum level).
What Can You Use Star Money and Star Passes On?
Star Money and Star Passes can be used on most items at Macy’s, though check your coupon for exclusions. They may not be used on gift cards, services, and fees.
Can You Use Star Money on Furniture and Mattresses?
Yes! But you’ll need to call Macy’s Customer Service (1-800-289-6229) in order to apply it.
What’s Excluded from Bonus Points?
You will still earn Rewards, but won’t earn bonus points from Star Rewards Bonus Days on furniture, mattresses, rugs, tech, FInish Line, Sunglass Hut, Louis Vuitton, Lids, and Macy’s Backstage.
Does Star Money Ever Expire?
Yes, Star Money expires 30 days after it’s been issued.
